Carbon Yachts
Sailing yacht under way off the European coast

European delivery

Take delivery where your yacht was built.

Collect your new yacht from the European yard, spend a season cruising on your own terms, then bring it home to Australia when you're ready. We coordinate the process from handover to shipping.

Start ownership at the source.

For owners with the time and inclination, European delivery turns the period between build completion and Australian arrival into part of the ownership experience.

Meet the people who built the yacht, complete the handover at the yard and spend days, weeks or a full season cruising Europe before arranging shipment to Australia.

How it works

  1. 01

    Build & specification

Configure the yacht with Carbon Yachts and the European yard as normal.

  2. 02

    Factory handover

Take delivery at the shipyard, complete familiarisation and spend time with the team who built your yacht.

  3. 03

    Cruise Europe

Cruise independently or build an itinerary around the time and destinations that suit you.

  4. 04

    Ship home

When you're finished, we coordinate the yacht's onward transport and Australian delivery.

Your yacht. Your itinerary.

A few weeks in the Mediterranean. A summer in Northern Europe. Or simply several days getting to know the yacht before it ships home.

The itinerary is yours; we shape the delivery around it.

  • Balearics and the Côte d'Azur
  • Corsica, Sardinia and the Amalfi Coast
  • The Adriatic and the Greek islands
  • Northern Europe and the Baltic

One team, from the yard to Australia.

Taking delivery overseas shouldn't mean managing the process alone. Carbon Yachts remains your point of contact throughout, working with the shipyard and relevant specialists from build completion through to Australian arrival.

  • Factory coordination and handover
  • Owner familiarisation
  • Registration and documentation coordination, with the relevant specialists
  • European delivery planning
  • Shipping and logistics
  • Australian arrival and commissioning
  • Ongoing local support

Is European delivery right for you?

It makes the most sense for owners who want to spend meaningful time aboard before the yacht arrives in Australia — whether that's a short European shakedown or an extended cruising season.

For owners who simply want the yacht delivered home as quickly as possible, conventional Australian delivery remains straightforward.

The questions we are asked most.

What is European delivery?
European delivery is taking delivery of your new yacht at the European yard where she was built, cruising her there for as long as suits you, and then having Carbon Yachts coordinate her transport home to Australia.
Which yachts can be collected in Europe?
Any of the European-built yachts we represent — including YYachts, Saffier Yachts, Virtue Yachts, Santasevera Yachts and Candela Boats & Ferries. It is most commonly chosen on YYachts and larger Saffier Yachts builds, but is available across the range.
How long can we stay in Europe before shipping home?
From a few days of familiarisation to a full season. Carbon Yachts plans the shipping window around your itinerary, not the other way around.
Where can we cruise?
Wherever suits — the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia, the Amalfi Coast, the Côte d'Azur, the Adriatic, the Greek islands, or Northern Europe. We can introduce skippers and local crew, suggest itineraries and arrange berths.
Who handles registration, VAT and paperwork?
Carbon Yachts coordinates with the yard and the appropriate specialists on registration, documentation, flag and insurance for European waters and the passage home. We are not tax or legal advisers; we make sure the right people are engaged and the process stays on schedule.
How is the yacht brought home to Australia?
We coordinate the full path home: yard preparation, cradling, transport by specialist yacht-shipping carrier, Australian customs and import, then commissioning and a final handover in local waters.
Do we have to cruise in Europe to take European delivery?
No. Some owners take handover at the yard purely to see the boat at her source, then ship her home immediately. Most take at least a short shakedown — it is a practical way to commission a new yacht.
How early should we start planning?
As early as possible. Build slots, European berths in peak season and shipping windows all need lead time. We plan European delivery alongside the build contract, not after.
