Virtue Yachts steps into the 45-foot class

Guido de Groot design, two cabins and a terrace-led deck gave Virtue Yachts’ larger flagship project a broader purpose than dayboating.

Virtue Yachts has since renamed the V14 as the V45.

On 13 September 2025, Virtue Yachts announced a 45-foot flagship project designed by Guido de Groot, taking the range beyond its established dayboat platform. A larger social deck and two-cabin accommodation gave the project a broader purpose: room to spend longer aboard, without abandoning the terrace-led layout and outboard performance at the heart of the brand.

The project was announced under the V14 name, with a world premiere planned for the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2026.

Scale with a purpose

Moving into the 45-foot class meant more than adding length. The larger platform allowed the social deck and accommodation to work together, rather than treating a night aboard as an occasional extension of a day on the water.

The current Virtue Yachts V45 Hard Top has two cabins and a bathroom with a separate shower. Those are useful distinctions for owners considering longer stays: separate sleeping spaces give guests privacy, while a dedicated shower makes the accommodation more practical beyond a single night.

Above deck, side terraces open the cockpit towards the water. Bow and aft sunbeds provide separate places to settle, and a dedicated Seabob garage keeps that equipment out of the living areas. The larger social deck retains the connection to the anchorage that makes the smaller boats distinctive, with accommodation below that supports a different length of trip.

Design and performance at a larger scale

Guido de Groot’s design gives the flagship its own proportions rather than simply enlarging the smaller platform. Naval architecture by Studio Delta / Petestep accompanies a clear performance intent: this remains an outboard-powered boat, with substantial power options rather than a shift towards a slower cruising brief.

The current V45 Hard Top specification lists a maximum of 53 knots with triple 500 hp Mercury Racing outboards. That figure belongs to that configuration, not every build. It signals the upper end of the project’s performance potential; it is not a claim about how every boat will perform in every load or sea condition.

Category B is also listed in the current factory specification. It gives the larger platform a defined offshore design context, but is not a blanket assurance about a particular passage. Conditions, loading and the skipper’s judgement still matter.

A broader flagship role

The 33-foot family remains the core of the Virtue Yachts range. The V45 Hard Top broadens the choice for owners who want the same emphasis on an open social deck and purposeful driving, but need more accommodation and space for longer stays.
