Saffier Yachts SE 38 — Leader

Saffier Yachts
THE BOAT

The open water pulls. The SE 38 Leader answers.

There is a particular kind of freedom that only a larger boat gives you: the confidence to point her at a distant headland and not once wonder whether the boat is up to it. The Saffier Yachts SE 38 Leader is rated CE Category A ocean, which means the builder has answered that question before you even ask. Eighty square metres of sail drives a hull that accelerates cleanly and settles into a rhythm that makes long passages feel almost meditative. Every sheet and control runs back to the helm, self-tacking jib included, so the whole boat answers to one set of hands without fuss or compromise.

And then you arrive. The aft deck opens up, broad and warm, an invitation to do absolutely nothing for a while. When the light drops and you want to stay another night, the interior is genuinely there for it: a proper retreat, not an afterthought. This is the boat for the owner who has graduated from day trips to something more, but never wanted to graduate from the pleasure of sailing it themselves.

01ON DECK

A terrace on the water, all to yourself

The closed transom of the Saffier Yachts SE 38 Leader does something simple and wonderful: it keeps the sailing hardware where it belongs and leaves the aft deck free. Full-size sun lounge, integrated storage below, a folding swim platform that puts you in the water and back out again without drama. Sail hard, then just stop, and the boat becomes somewhere else entirely.

Time aboard that earns itself

The Saffier Yachts SE 38 Leader gives you a genuine choice below: leave the bow open for a loft-like saloon that breathes light and air, or close it off into a private owner's cabin when the mood shifts. Either way there is a proper galley, a wet room with shower, and enough berths that staying another night is a decision you make for pleasure, not out of necessity.
