THE BOAT

The pocket superyacht you can sail yourself

Some owners reach a point where they want to sail again, really sail, not manage a programme. The YYachts Y6 is the kind of boat that makes that easy: sixty-five feet of carbon, three proper cabins, and a rig you can handle from the helm without anyone else aboard if that is how the day goes. Bring the family, bring friends, or point her offshore with a single watch-keeper. The boat is happy either way.

YYachts started with a simple question: why does a beautiful, capable bluewater yacht have to be complicated? The Y6 is the answer. It moves the way a well-sorted yacht should, looks the way good German design always does, and leaves you with the thing that actually matters at the end of a long passage: the feeling that you sailed it.

01ON BOARD

Room for everyone who matters

The YYachts Y6 carries three flexible cabins, so the people you want aboard actually have somewhere to be. Friends and family spread out, everyone has their own space, and the owner's stateroom stays yours. Sixty-five feet of carbon hull delivers the kind of space that usually comes with a much larger programme, and none of the complications.

02DESIGN

A hull shaped by fifty years of fast

Bill Tripp's brief for the YYachts Y6 was a carbon-epoxy hull that points high, tracks true and rewards a light hand on the helm: not a racer dressed up for cruising, but a bluewater yacht that genuinely loves to move. The 160-square-metre mainsail does the heavy lifting; the hull shape does the rest, carrying speed through a gybe with the composure of something twice the crew complement.

03MADE YOUR WAY

Built around you, down below

The YYachts Y6 is built to order, and the in-house YYachts design team works with each owner to shape the layout and material palette before a single module is cut. Three cabins is the starting point; from there the configuration shifts to suit however the boat will actually be used. In a class where most builders hand you a brochure, the Y6 gives you a conversation.
